A seven-day Clown Training Retreat led by John Beale.

This is a week-long immersion in presence, play, and deep practice — a chance to begin the year grounded, open, and fully alive, held in a beautiful setting near Playa Pelada, Costa Rica.

This work is rooted in play and what I often call the alchemy of failure — learning to stay open and responsive rather than pushing or withdrawing. We explore games, rhythm, vulnerability, and the courage to not know.

The days are structured yet spacious, with six full days of practice between light arrival and departure evenings. There is time to rest, swim, walk to the beach, and integrate.

Open to actors and non-actors alike — artists, educators, and anyone drawn to play, presence, and meaningful creative risk.

John Beale trained at the École Philippe Gaulier in Paris and has been teaching clown and embodied performance for over 15 years.
